  EDA Quality Assurance

EDA guarantees product quality through a strict quality control auditing and reporting system starting with the product development cycle and ending with final shipment inspections. We take a very "hands-on" approach to the development cycle, and customize our QC/QA process to individual client's needs. In general we follow the following guidelines:

I. Development Process
A. Analyze product / tooling design
i. identify potential problem areas and suggest possible changes to eliminate identified problems
ii. examine and suggest possible product design changes to lower cost / improve quality
B. Identify suitable and cost effective production tooling / equipment suppliers and backup suppliers
i. confirmation of tooling supplier machining capacity, experience, capabilities
ii. confirmation of tooling supplier agreement to non-disclosure (NDA) and QC/QA conformance terms
iii. confirmation of tooling supplier conformance to international labor law
C. Audit production tooling / equipment material specifications
i. tooling material specification suitable for production to product spec
ii. explore and report alternative tooling materials to maximize tooling life / lower overall product costs
iii. full cost breakdown analysis of tooling costs (labor, material, overhead)
D. Identify OEM production facilities and backup production facilities
i. complete cost breakdown of production (materials, labor, overheads, etc) from multiple vendors, complete cost comparison between vendors
ii. production schedule breakdown reporting, all processes
iii. vendor agreement to NDA terms QC/QA conformance to specification terms
iv. confirmation of vendor conformance to international labor law
II. Tooling Fabrication Process
A. Work in progress reporting
i. auditing of tooling materials to specification
ii. timeline / schedule confirmation
B. Tooling completion / first shot / stamp testing
i. first article inspection report (FAIR) to specifications
ii. out of specification reporting / solution recommendations
iii. second round (FAIR) - until conformance with specifications
C. Final approval
III. Production Process and Final Shipments
A. Audit of materials to meet specifications
B. Full work in progress reporting
i. analysis of timeline adherence, production speed
ii. analysis of process for potential cost saving measures
C. Inline production / in-process inspections to AQL / Milspec
i. identify production problems / out of tolerance issues
ii. suggest remedies / alter production to meet specifications
iii. QC/QA of initial production runs / finished product and packing to specification
D. Final shipment inspections to AQL / Milspec
i. confirmation of conformance to specifications
ii. confirmation of finish acceptability / visual
iii. conformance to packing requirements

The above outline is only the basic "template" model for QC/QA that we use for most projects. At EDA we service you with a customized program based upon your individual needs. From simple QC/QA of products you are sourcing in China to full open book outsourcing and cost comparison from different manufacturers, contact us for a custom program based on your requirements in China.
